Geared stepper motors

Hello. I´ve raised this question on a Ender 3 group on fb, but there was not a satisfying answer… Why is there almost nobody with geared motors for X and Y? Some planetary gears on the stepper motor would add a lot more precise movements, especially on 8bit boards, that struggle to work with precise microstepping. You could simply change …Continue reading →

Yet another “Beware of MakerGeeks” warning

It's been a few weeks since somebody posted about this company so I'm throwing my story in the mix as well. I went on a filament buying spree when I got my printer before hearing about MakerGeeks's crap customer service, realized a week ago that I never received the order I placed in the beginning of July. Went to the …Continue reading →

I am currently doing research on 3D metal printing. I am trying to find out the exact point in history when 3D printers were able to print with metal powders instead of plastic-type materials. Based on my current research, I can guess that it was some time during the 1990s after the first SLA machine was created. Most of my …Continue reading →

Morocco’s ancient city of Volubilis rises again

Situated in a fertile plain at the foot of Mount Zerhoun, the sprawling remains of Morocco’s oldest Roman site—Volubilis—have survived pillage and long periods of neglect.
