Multi-colour filament packs

Has anyone bought the multi-colour filament packs for 3D pens to use on their 3D printer? The pack at the link below indicates it will work with 3D printers, and it gives you 25 colours for $13 USD (although it is somehow $30 CAD on Amazon Canada). https://www.amazon.com/Pen-Filament-Refills-Fluorescent-Transparent/dp/B078QVZKL9 submitted by /u/NotSoSeri0us [link] [comments] from 3D printing news …Continue reading →

It says acetone can reinvigorate he pei sheer at one point or another in the prusa manual, how exactly does it do so? I’d assume it’s not just that it’s been cleaned and something happened.

Changed Nozzle diameter, extreme underextrusion in prints now

In simplify3d settings I changed the nozzle diameter appropriately and the layer height from 0.1 mm to 0.3 mm. Other than those what settings should I change? This is on a …Continue reading →

Printing a 3D printed part, any tips?

I wanted to paint this watch housing. I don't have the part yet, but I know it's 3D printed in ABS. I was thinking of using this silver spray paint after I primer and sand the part. Looking for a color similar to stainless steel or Aluminum. Make it look like a metal part. Can I get it to …Continue reading →

Difference in strength/rigidity of prints from colored vs natural filament?

It makes intuitive sense to me: natural PLA/ABS/ASA should be stronger than one with additives. Have you noticed any tendencies among all the different brands..? submitted by /u/ironcunts [link] [comments] from 3D printing news https://ift.tt/2C2wk1F via RSS

Why can’t Z orientation be strong?

It’s pretty common knowledge that for Fused Filament printers that if you print an object along the X-Y axis, such as a screwdriver model laying down, that it will be stronger along those axes. If you print an object vertically through its Z axis, for example a standing screwdriver model, it has much less strength. My question is — why …Continue reading →
