Astronauts could 3D print useful tools on-site from their own recycled waste

A group of researchers at the University of Calgary has developed a method of recycling human waste in order to produce 3D printing materials. Using genetically-engineered bacteria, faeces can be fermented into a substance called PHB, which would be directly usable with SLS 3D printing technology. via 3ders.org, http://www.3ders.org/articles/20180406-astronauts-could-3d-print-useful-tools-on-site-from-their-own-recycled-waste.html
